The Pine Bluff Household Hazardous Waste
Recycling Collection Center at 16th and Pennsylvania, across from Taylor
Field, phone 870-543-1851, accepts:
1. Old computers, cell phones, and other
unwanted electronic equipment
2. Old batteries of all types
3. Used motor oil and filters
4. Antifreeze
5. Paint (liquid and aerosol)
6. Pesticides
7. Drain cleaners
8. Fluorescent light bulbs (THIS IS WHERE TO BRING USED/BROKEN CFLs)
9. Used hypodermic needles (should not be put in with garbage or flushed down
toilet)
Also at this site are free dumpsters for household trash, old furniture,
clothes, toys, and other household items (call ahead to check on whether the
dumpsters are full). Cont’dà
Demolition materials such as sheetrock, lumber,
concrete, fencing, and roofing shingles are not accepted and should be taken
to the Jefferson County landfill on Gravel Pit Road (phone
870-247-6800). Also grass trimmings,
leaves, limbs, and shrubs are not accepted.
Other
recyclables are accepted: cardboard,
paper, plastic bottles, plastic bags, and aluminum and steel cans.
Items must come from private residences. Businesses,
schools, churches and independent contractors should call for information on
recycling and disposal of trash.
